Vestiges of Ancient Tin Workings in the Loe Pool Valley by Mr R J Cunnack
Article describing the tin workings of the Cober Valley up to Trelubbus with particular reference to ‘sites of three or four ancient entrenchments, dignified with the names of castles, though probably at no time more important than earthworks, one of which, at the entrance to Lowertown, “Castle Teen Urn” still exhibits an isolated hillock, surrounded by a circular escarpment, in a very perfect condition.”
Note: A bungalow was built on the the site of Castle Teen Urn which makes it difficult to see the site in its entirety but looking from the river the escarpment may still be seen.
